I go to school at Wright and we had a wear your wright shirt for school spirit day. Well I hate the way the t-shirt looked on me so I made it look better.

I turned it into a dress:

I'm kinda proud of it, it wearable, but one strap keeps sliding down, and he ses I had to pin because it was bulging out. I'll have to learn how to fix it.

Any pointers would be great.

Thanks
Kristy

Your dress looks very nice on you.  Perhaps attaching the straps a little closer together in the back will prevent them from slipping.

I'm looking to start my own first recon, and I was wondering if you had any "from experience" pointers from *your* first try that you could pass on...

The dress is absolutely adorable, doesn't look like a first attempt at all!

1st I cut the sleeves off
2nd I cut the neck line off in a straight line.
3rd I placed the shirt on then I pinned it to about how much I need to cut off and sew up to fit me better.
4th I measured where I wanted the band to be across my body and cut a strip.
5th I cut 2 strips for the straps then sewed it up.

One of the sleeves falls off my shoulder but I was told to sew the backs of the straps closer to fix it but I haven't tried that yet. It was also a little bulgy under the arms so I think I should have measured a little better. I just made a little dart to take in the extra fabric.

I hope that helps
