I am finally having some fun with it- I am so thankful to the friend of mine who told me to just
sit down and do it- not to get any patterns or anything.  That was some of the best
advice I ever got.  You guys have all been so helpful too.  I hope to have photos to show you all really soon!

You might like rya knots (mostly you are making knots that stick up from the warp) and inlay. With inlay, just open a shed and stick something in, be it fiber or a stick or locks or cloth or paper... and then trap it in place with your next pick.
You don't want to completely lose all fabric structure, so make sure you do some actual weave- but you can have things that trail out the sides and fringe the ends and all sorts of fun.)

Oooo that sounds cool too- I hope I can finish my first piece soon- I was just messing around with some synthetic things at first- my mom is allergic to wool so I was going to give it to her for a gift- but she is not that avante garde, so I will probably just keep it for myself.

I am having fun weaving in random patterns as I go along.  It is so pretty that way.
