So last fall sometime I bought this dress from a resale shop for about $3 (maybe it was $5) with the intent of altering it- it was an Old Navy dress I think.
Soooooo I totally revamped it. I took in the waist so it would be more fitted, removed the straps and added fabric to the skirt. I started it in January, but my crazy amount of work for vet school didn't leave much time for sewing, so I just finally finished it yesterday.

Before:VERY ill-fitting.

Sorry the pictures are really blurry- my camera wasn't working so well last night so I had to resort to the cell phone camera for the after pictures. I'll post some better ones this weekend (and with more detail)!

I love what you did with this-- the green fabric is a nice choice. I'm always peeking into Old Navy (probably because it's next to A.C. Moore!) for cheap stuff to alter. They have a lot of great items on the sale racks but they're usually ill-fitting.

Wonderful recon! I like.  Smiley  The bright green peeking out of the darker dress fabric is such a delightful surprise! It just makes me want to laugh - in a good... delightfully surprised kind of way   Shocked  Cheesy  And it looks like you did a great job cutting and resweing, too. Smiley  Do post clearer pics, if you get a chance to take them! I'd love to see more!

I love it! That green fabric is the perfect contrast for it. Also good luck with vet school.
