Has anyone seen any classes offered around for Native Arts like caribou tufting, basket weaving, fur sewing, or anything along those lines?

I keep looking, but so far keep coming up with nothing.  Sad

I haven't checked this thread in a while. Sorry.

Have you checked the Alaska Native Heritage Center in Anchorage? They offer lots of classes.

I found a couple locally put on through one of the Native spots up here!  Anchorage is a bit of a drive.  I'm up in Fairbanks.  Smiley

Now if only I'd feel good when they offer them, I'll be set!

New to Alaska, been on craftster a long time though. Smiley  We are about to start homeschooling, eventually I am hoping to teach my oldest how to knit and crochet...and sew...

Welcome to craftster!

Oh, I LOVE visiting Homer!  You have such a neat town and gorgeous area down there.  Smiley
I'm from Fairbanks and miss the coast like mad.

That's really great!  Welcome!  Smiley

You will get up here in time for a bunch of cool winter things, like the World Ice Art Championships at the ice park, and the North American Open Sled Dog Races!

OH!!!  AND I think the AFN (Alaska Federation of Natives) is having their conference in Fairbanks in the fall 2014!  You must check that out, their craft fair is amazing, and so are the dancing and things that are open to the public!
