Any Craftsters in Alaska?

I live in Chicago, and I'm surrounded by LYS's, but none of them hold a candle to the ones in Alaska!  I LOVE Fantastic Fiber.  When I dream of yarn shopping, I always dream that I'm there!

I may have missed this, but are there any groups that get together for crafting. I love learning and sharing varied techniques of different crafts. So I am interested in finding a group that gets together.
I am in Talkeetna, but can drive 1 month to wasilla or every few months to fairbanks. I try to avoid Anchorage, no offense to anchoragites.

It would be great to get a crafting group together for at least once a month. It is hard here in Alaska, especially in the rural sections where many of us are so far apart. I would love to do craft skill swap group. (hehehe)
Meet once a month and teach each other new crafting skills. I would love to learn so many different things, any craftster's interested around Talkeetna (Wasilla,palmer, Houston,Willow, Anchorage?)

I saw a lady who had get togethers to review cinema in london, I think they called it knitflix or something... I thought, that might be cool, at ppl's houses, or the theater... I do portable items for sure, I am a big knit in public kinda ggrll...  I am up for opening my living room/dining/kitchen for a get together or two.  Or open to going about town.. I live in Palmer...

Wow... lots of people down near Anchorage. 

I'm up in Fairbanks.  It looks like there's really only the bead store here now or Michaels and JoAnnes.

I just moved up here in October, my husband is AF so we're on Elmendorf.

I sew and do paper crafting (cards and a tiny bit of scrapbooking.) I like Seams Like Home in the University Center. Other than Joann and Michael's, that's the only craft store I've visited. I saw a scrapbook store somewhere (the only road names I know are the ones I frequent, lol.) Are there any other good fabric stores around?

Hi!  I am in Anchorage - just moved here this summer!  I mostly embroider and do scrapbooking, but also knit and a few other things.  As far as fabric stores, there is one in midtown, I think it is called the Quilt Tree?  There are a couple of quilt stores around town, but I am told by ladies I work with that they are pretty expensive, and you are better off at JoAnne's.
