Organizer Wallet (My first sewn wallet!)

This is the first time I've ever sewn a wallet. I've made them out of duct tape and packaging tape before, though. This one turned out wayy better than those EVER did. lol.

I wanted a new wallet, mostly because mine was an old lady-ish style wallet that was meant to hold a check book and a bunch of mom-type stuff. I don't carry a check book with me anymore, and I'm not a mom, so a smaller, lighter wallet was what I was after.

I only interfaced the outer layer.







The outside also matches my purse, which is underneath the wallet in all these pics. I made it using scraps I had around the house, and a tutorial on the burda style website. The only thing I changed was the snap. I don't like snaps, and for some reason I couldn't find a needle, so I used some velcro that took ages to find. lol

Don't you know I am just a little nuts over polka dots?  I made a wallet similar to yours and now I want one in polka dots   

I'm with you on the snap thing.  I don't care for snaps.  Sometimes they can be so hard to work with, both on the installing and on the finished product. 

Your top-stitching is very well done, your pockets line up nicely and the fabric choices are perfect.  i really love this wallet.  You did a fantastic job.

ColourCloud, it's actually SUPER easy. I used all light weight cottons and had no trouble with too many layers. Give it a shot! (Though hopefully your zipper goes in straight. lol. mine was a biatch.)

Your wallet is lovely,  i`m wanting to make one but i`m having trouble getting hold of really stiff interfacing , the UK sucks for things like that, usually have to buy online for it cos there`s nowhere local
Anyway when i get some i`m hoping mine turns out as good as yours

NuttyWoman, Pelon is really a good brand to check out if you haven't already. I ALWAYS buy pelon interfacing. They have several different thicknesses. It's great.
