Dress For Memorial Service (pic heavy-ish)

Good Afternoon!!

Well, tomorrow my parents and I depart for England. We are going for my granddad's ten year memorial service. I thought of making a dress in honour of the occasion, and since red was his favourite colour it must be incorporated. I saw this fabric when out at fabricland with my friend (caustic-mind) and thought it was pretty but wasn't sure. She then told me it would look nice so I ended up getting it. My mom also got a bunch and we both made dresses, but hers is for another occasion...

I was planning to use Newlook 6675 but started by cutting the pieces wrong, so i pretty much freestyled... I did however have the bodice cut out but then lost all the instructions so i freestyled that too. All in all it turned out very pretty, but it is quite short looking. The also could be because i'm tall ^_^ and my shoes are 4 inch wedge heels.... XD

I plan to wear this dress with a black crocheted bolero because its chilly in England and my white sling back white wedge heels, and i made a matching clutch which will be posted at a later date. Sorry for the book i wrote for you all and sorry for these crappy pictures, I will update with some action shots after i return...

Thats really pretty.   Not sure where in england you're going,  But we're in the middle of a heat wave over here, so you might get lucky and not need the bolero.

thats what my cousin said too... we'll be in london, banbury, a little place called fenny compton, warwickshire and a few others places..

You definately wont need the bolero then.   I'm up north in the lakes and it's hot, london and the south always get it better than us, so it'll be bikini weather for you.

lol bikini weather for me is very different... i'm from canada where it is always cold, and when its hot its HOT. so i'm guessing that in England hot would mean rather cool to me .... and idea as to what temperature it is? that could help a bit...

Stick a matching cardi/bolero in as the weather has turn here in what was sunny UK!  It might get better, but you never can tell.

aww thanks ^_^ i love the dress, and my cousin did say that the temp has been going down a bit, but i'm prepared as the memorial isn't for another week... its on friday may 23rd so the weather may change, but i don't know

Jumping on the weather bandwagon...
the weather has been lovvvely for the last week (like, going out without a jumper or anything, just a vest top or strappy dress...) but now it's turned.
It's a bit chilly, and rainy...so you might need that bolero!
