I'm having problems with my serger (Singer ProFinish CG754) and am hoping someone can help me! I got it for Christmas and haven't used it until recently, so it's too late to return or get it serviced under warranty.

The serging in most fabrics pulls right off. Flannel, denim, batiste.... WTF? Is this a needle size problem (too big, perforating the fabric?)? I'm used to industrial sergers and have never had to change a needle size for a fabric, and on an industrial I have only had serging pull off of a horrible crosswoven fabric with a very low thread count.

I can only serge about a foot before the threads get tangled and the machine locks up. I've threaded and rethreaded it hundreds of times. I've checked the instruction booklet to make sure I'm threading it properly and have hand wheeled it to see where the problem is arising. Of course when I hand wheel it doesn't lock up.

What am I doing wrong?
