I saw this idea somewhere online and thought "I can do this!". It's made out of the little plastic containers of a fruit yoghurt brand named "Fruchtzwerge" (the Germans on here will know...). The eating was the hardest part, the stuff is sickly sweet and especially the banana-flavored kind is making me ill. But I made my way through all 70 pieces (!).

After that it was a piece of cake (or yoghurt, in this case Smiley). I just stringed the containers together with little metal rings, put them on a lampshade ring and ... done! (The plastic won't melt because we're using it with a low-heat, energy-saving bulb and the radius of the thing is wide enough)

On to the pictures:

The whole thing:

Hope you enjoy!

I hit "THIS ROCKS" because it does! Wow Grin

I love those colors together and the shape it created when all strung together. I would love to see a pic of it lit up Smiley

Wow...this totally rocks!

It's very Eames era mod...which I love. Grin

We have them in Canada too...they're called Petite Danone.  Ahhh they are kinda nasty tasting.....strange aftertaste.

Kudos on eating 70 of them!!

Thanks for the nice comments  Grin Originally I wanted to string some beads underneath the last row of containers to give it a more kitschy look, but my boyfriend vetoed this idea - too girly. But it really does give a nice light, especially since the inside of the things is white.

Here's a picture of it lit up:
