I was working on some pirate shorts for my ds.  I also had this shirt I in my UFO pile.  Can I put them together?  My ds seems to like them - but his is not even 2 yet...

What do you think?

I am thinking the shirt my need some words appliqued on it or something.  Or do I just leave it alone, or should I make a new shirt to go with the shorts?

Thanks in advance...

I love it the way it is, but maybe if you have some left overs of the fabric from the shorts, you could cut out one of the little pirate guys (square cutout) and applique it onto the shirt?  That would really tie it together and I think would look adorable!!!!

I think it looks great.  The stripes on the bottom of the left leg tie the shirt in nicely.  I agree that a little pirate applique' on the shirt might seal the deal, though.  Great work as usual, ktlady.  I just love to see your work in knits (and everything else...)  They all look so professional.

Thanks - but I had to LOL because the shirt is not finished yet.  It was in the stack waiting to be coverstitched and my ds wanted to wear it.  So none of the hems are done and the neckline still need to be topstitched.

I think they look great together. . .in fact, when the page first loaded and I saw just the shirt, I thought "Oh, that reminds me of that cute pirate print at JoAnn's."  Smiley  (I've *almost* bought some of it every time I've gone in there lately.  Wink

Nice work!

Good grief, that shirt is still unfinished?  I need to come to your house so that you can teach me to sew!   Smiley Smiley
