Mosaic Ikea Lamps - Completed

[HSG]

Getting started on a new mosaic project with these two Ikea Althorn Table lamps I found at the thrift store. 

Since these will go in the same room the lamps will follow the same design as my glass on glass mosaic seen here.



Here are the lamps before:


The look like the old hair driers they used in hair salons. 

So far I've painted the bases black.


The shade designs I free handed so they are not identical, but have the same elements. Here are shots from various sides.

The designs drawn on the shades will be mosaiced with glass. Started cutting my pieces yesterday, and hope to get more done today. I like to have my pieces cut before I start the project.

Bit of an update.

Got the circles and black outline done on the first shade. Tried to take the images in a round order so you might be able to get an idea of the design overall. Also found it is easier and safer to work on the shade on the lamp base.









Need to do some clean-up on the area near the top finial before going on.


Hope to get more done on Sunday.
