Hi everyone,

My mother made me a great Booga Bag for Christmas, using Nashua Wooly Stripes.  My mother-in-law now wants one for Christmas.

I'm wondering if there is a cheaper yarn out there that will stripe and felt--cheaper than the Noro or Nashua stuff that it seems most people make these bags out of?  Any ideas?

Thanks!

Suzanne

you can use KP wool of the andes, it's really cheap ($1.99/ball), but you'll have to design the striping pattern yourself (which is a huge plus to me, custom striping), or you can use the WOTA hand dyed, but it's not self striping.

You could also look at some of the variegated wools by HandPaintedYarn.com.  They always have some cool colors to choose from and their yarns are affordable and reliable.

Patons SWS makes an awesome booga. It felts like crazy into a nice thick fabric.
