I made this tote from a brocade remnant I found at JoAnn's. It is a lovely chocolate brown with turquoise flowers and leaves. I lined it with a nice piece of chocolate colored cotton with same color floral embroidery. I also used a heavy weight interfacing to give it form and body. This first picture shows the colors the best. Please ignore the ugly wallpaper. My landlord won't let me paint over it. I am sending this to a friend to auction off for her aunt who was just diagnosed with cancer. Let me know what you think.

the bag is pretty. i love the fabric. the size is nice too. just right for essentials. i have tons of remnants. i buy them every time i'm at Wal-Mart. and that's awesome what you're doing with it. more people should contribute to different causes. my husband's band is hosting a benefit concert for a local children's hospital at the end of the month, and i am making sock monkeys to raffle off for the cause. anyway, great job on the bag Smiley

What a beautiful bag!!  Isn't it great when you find a treasure in the remnant bin?

This is a very nice bag & what you are doing is very nice. One tip w/the wallpaper, why not tack some white fabric or sheet to the wall in back of the bag so the wallpaper won't show (it's not that bad tho).

Thank you all for the nice words ... I really loved this tote bag. I have enough of both fabrics left to make a purse for me  Grin  Opheliapoe-I haunt the Joann's remnant bin! I am such a fiber addict LOL

That is gorgeous!  My favorite color combination is turquoise and brown.

You generated some great karma by giving it to your friend too.

Awesome job!  Smiley

Very nice!  And so thoughtful of you.  What is your secret for brocade???  I just came from my sewing room, disgusted because I was using brocade, and just had a horrible time.  I gave up & put a half finished bag away to probably sit forever cause I was so frustrated!!  I used interfacing, a new needle in my machine, and an even feed foot & it still frayed like crazy.  GRRRRRRR!!!
