Hello!  This is my first post in this forum.  I just completed my first real embroidery project for a swap, and thought I'd share!  (My actual first was a tiny, patternless attempt to try out some stitches.)  I used a free vintage pattern from Pattern Bee, traced onto Solvy, and stitched with 3-4 strands of cotton floss.  I was trying out the stem stitch, split stitch, and...well...someth ing halfway between a satin stitch and long and short, for the shading.  I did short rows of red, with long, alternating rows of dark pink.  Hope you like it!

And this is what I made it into:

Aw, thank you all, so much!  For this, I did use a pattern, that I got from the Pattern Bee website.  I was so nervous!  But I'm very happy with it.

Aww, no way you are a newbie. This is too perfect. . . Great job you must have natural talent. I am really impressed with how many new stitches you used. Awesome job.
