Okay just using a staple gun is not working I need some kind of wire behind it or something. It's just not holding it's shape very good.

so i know this post is way old and its probably irrelevant now but i came across it in a search so if anyone out there is still looking for a way to make rope letters/words, this method's really good, looks great and is easy and you can even use thin rope if you dont want to use yarn, but seeing how as you can find yarn in practically any color you could probably just use a rope-colored yarn
