Hi everyone!

This is a small "I'm moving" gift for a good neighbor-friend of mine.  He has a bird, too, so I thought he would appreciate this.

I bought two plaster bird figures from Micheal's and painted them (with a modification to the parakeet's cere.)  I had been collecting my birds' feathers, so I made small holes in the plaster after I painted and glued some into place (I thought Kayla's crest feathers came out well!).  I sealed everything with matte Mod-Podge after mounting it to a wood platform I had lying around.  Here are the results:

Kayla preening herself:

Kayla again:

Kyle is a little camera shy... Smiley

I hope he likes it!

Oooh, that is so sweet!  Does the bird think that those are real or just a toy?  Excuse my ignorance of birds  Embarrassed  You did a great job of painting it to look like the real bird.  So cute!!!

Thanks everyone!

I don't think she thinks they are real birds.  She likes to test out everything with her beak, though, and I think preening is mostly an instinctual/comforting thing for them.
