I recently bought a house and I am working on getting it together one room at a time. Well I almost have one room complete so I thought I would share.

www.fotki.com/scrills/my_house

These pics of my bedroom. I decided to go with shades of chocolate/brown.

First, I painted the entire wall white.

With the help of a friend, I taped off the wall using painter tape and a level. I didn't really worked off a diagram. I made one in powerpoint and only followed it for about 4 blocks.

Then we applied two coats of paint.

Remove the tape and this is that you have.

I also refinished the wood floors. It had shag carpet that I ripped up. Sanding floors is hard work!!!!!

That is absolutely amazing.  I love Frank Lloyd Wright and the whole Arts & Crafts movement... what an inspiring project!  Were you working from a specific design when you made the powerpoint diagram?  Or did you just kinda wing it?  Wow, totally amazing!   Cheesy

Thank you.
no, i didn't study design but I have been thinking about it.

For the powerpoint. I just started putting squares in 4 different colors and different sizes to see how it would look. I do this with a lot of paint ideas that I have.

@IqJones - Yes you can move in as long as you can handle winters in Ohio

Wow that's absolutely beautiful! I've painted just about every room in our house since we moved in about a year and a half ago, but I've never done anything that ambitious. Way to go!

And hey, I'm in Ohio too! (Bowling Green to be exact)

Columbus here! Wink

Scrills, your home transformations are wonderful!  You are very talented in *many* areas! The sliding glass doors turned out great, as well... Smiley

(You mentioned Chihuly ~ did you see the exhibit when it was at the Franklin Park Conservatory?  One of my friends got married in the middle of it...WOW...*jealous*  I have some photos somewhere...)
