shirred puff-sleeve shirt from oversized button down (with new pics)

I used this excellent tutorial from jessiesmess: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=93022.0


I felt I might mess up the bias binding the armholes and make it too constricting, so I shirred the bottom gathers instead.  Oh and I also repurposed the wrist cuffs to make a sort of tie-back in the back- a bit more suitable than darts since there was already a pleat in the back. 

The length is somewhat strange, should I lengthen into a dress by adding a ruffle? or shorten into a normal shirt?

Wonderful! I wish I were better with a sewing machine. . my idea of recon clothes is taking in a seam on a skirt because it was too big.

I love what you did with the cuffs!  So cute!  And I agree, the length as-is is perfect to wear with leggings.

Very cute!  I think if you have enough fabric left, adding a ruffle to the bottom would look good but if you don't, then shortening it (just a little) would be good.
