Now that I look back at my life, I realize that my mom was really awesome.  She did teach me how to sew.  Sewing is a huge part of my life now.  She was just so critical.  When I would finish a project, she would look it over and then point out all of the things that could have been done better.  I remember cutting corners and doing things wrong on purpose just to piss her off.  I thought my ways were better.

Years later, I am such the better seamstress because of the critical eye I have developed because of her.  She is one of my biggest fans now.  Every mothers day I make her a bag and I agonize over whether it will be good enough for her.  This is what I came up with... I almost trashed it and started over with something else just because the zipper section seemed a little wonky to me.  My husband told me I am nuts.  When I filled it up, I felt a little better about it. Here is to moms and Mothers Day and making me crazy.

I love it ... the zipper doesn't look wonky to me ... I'm sure your mother will love it.

Wow - how pretty!  I love the orangey fabric - nice contrast with the brown!

Moms can really be a pain in the butt, but they are usually worth it!

Beautiful bag!  Looks great!

My mom was very critical of me too, but I'd gladly listen to that nagging again.  My mom died in 94, I so miss her.
