My best friend's family is from West Virginia and her birthday is tomorrow. So i spent ALL DAY baking.  Cheesy Literally. I been at it since 8 AM and I'm still going! I dirtied every dish in my apartment! Oh well, at least I've got a gorgeous cake!

I was inspired by yet another awesome Craftster post: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=210889.0
So thanks, Craftinator!

Anyway, it went a little something like this:

I used my marshmallow fondant for the green and dark green, and icing for everything else. The seat is made of wafer cookies covered in yellow cream cheese frosting. And yes, those ARE rainbow cupcakes on the side. I couldn't bear to stab my beautiful tractor with candles!

Hope you like!

Happy Crafting!

WHOA! That cake is so awesome! What a nice friend you are to spend so much time and effort to make this.
As a girl who grew up in a farming community, I can appreciate a tractor cake. I spent much of my driving life going 10mph stuck behind these on the country roads  Wink

Beautiful! And it looks tasty too. My DH is standing behind me. He said "nothing runs like a Deer. "Then I followed it up with "nothing tastes like a Deer." Hahaha. I just realized that could go two ways. Duh! I need some sleep.

Did you use donuts for the wheels?  I saw a tractor cake in the Wilton yearbook, and that's what they had done.  It looks very cool!  You should feel proud.

I've got a handful of vintage patterns up for trade/swap (1950s/60s): Monograms, embellished bags, men's robe, lace work, spats/bags, bell bottom, mod dress.  PM if interested.
