my graduation is june 7th, and our school has this beautiful tradition where the girls wear white, floor length gowns.  what a perfect opportunity to make my own and stand out in the sea of davids bridals!

i used the infinity dress pattern found here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=104089.0 .  its an amazing post, i highly recommend checking it out.

here is the dress!

the full thing.  because i made it i could have the skirt as long as i wanted!

a slightly closer view.  i wrapped it in the grecian style.

ive got these pretty white shoes to go with them (the rules are: everything must be white!) that have a d'orsay cut (shallow vamp over the toes then a heel box, but nothing in the middle where your arch is so you can see it) with interesting triangular cut-outs.

ill post pics of the actual graduation when that date rolls around!

thanks for looking!  have a lovely day!

UPDATE!

here are the photos, as promised, of the final thing on the final day!

and last minute, i was reminded about the shoes!  sorry theres no photo of them with the dress (they were covered by the skirt anway - a bit too long!) but here they are!

after graduation we got on a bus and rode down to the river for a boat ride and dinner!  i forgot to bring extra shoes to change into so they hurt quite a bit after the night!   they werent the most comfortable but the heels werent too high so i will definitely wear them all summer!

Absolutely beautiful.  The infinity dress is gorgeous as a floor length formal!  You will definitely stand out in such a graceful unique gown. What fabric did you choose?  It drapes perfectly!

I am so upset that my school dose not have the white dress tradition. But I might wear one any way. That is a great, amazing dress.

thank you everyone! i am extremely excited for graduation!

digital misfit - i used a polyester spandex mix (unfortunately the fabric store sticker didnt give me any percentages) that must be handwashed, but it is very soft and breathes well!  thanks!

every little thing - bingo, i used to dance ballet Smiley thank you so much!

fromsophia - its funny, i went through a goth phase and remember looking forward to graduation as some atrocity i would have to go through.  i didnt wear white!  (now i do, obviously, im kind of preppy now.  wierd how that happens).  but i encourage you to wear white anyway!  its an uncommon dress color really, so you will stand out Smiley  thank you!
