So my boyfriend is going on a three week pilgriamage through Australia in a week. He'll only be bringing a large backpack but I want to secretly pack in a little something. It won't be able to be very big at all but I'd still like to send him off with something special.
He won't have access to much technology although I think I will record a video message from me and put it on a USB stick for him to listen to if he comes across a computer.
I can't put in any food or anything like that because it'll be such a small space and food isn't what I'm aiming at.
Any bright ideas?

hmmm would you like him to find something practical, or something more on the sentimental side? For practical, maybe some bandaids and pocket sized sunscreen? For sentimental...maybe little notes tucked in here and there?

a tiny stuffy that has a recorded message of you talking to him telling him you miss him & love him or whatever. It's kind of like a squeky toy thingy but you talk into it & then when he squeezes it, it will be you saying stuff to him.

So this is what I'm thinking... I want it to be more personal than practical.
- so... will record a message from me on a digital camera... put it on a cheap memory stick.. he'll have computer access for the first couple days
- I want to take a pad of post its and write random messages on them and slip them into the pockets of all his clothes and whatnot to find at random
- ... I want to stick a calling card in his wallet with a note saying there's no excuse not to call me
- AND I want to stencil a tee shirt... with some kind of insider and stick it in his bag without him noticing... I'm thinking from Juno:

Juno MacGuff: I think I'm in love with you.
Paulie Bleeker: You mean as friends?
Juno MacGuff: No... I mean for real. 'Cause you're, like, the coolest person I've ever met,  and you don't even have to try, you know...
Paulie Bleeker: I try really hard, actually
