Baby Clothes IMG HEAVY

More people having babies. My friend asked me to make "stuff" for his friend's baby. "stuff" for me meant sweater, hat, booties so I bought 7 balls of yarn. When I handed him everything he told me he thought "stuff" meant HAT. So now I am trying to burn through 4 more pink balls of yarn HAHAHAH!!!

The pink sweater is a cape that I modified from http://www.knittingonthenet.com/patterns/babysweyokecard.htm because I suck at making sleeves - I always make them too small and I was too lazy to keep going.

The white sweater is from http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=62184.msg588576#msg588576 but I made it longer for the baby to cover her tummy.

I have no clue where I got the pattern for the hat, but it was called Preemie hat maybe?

All these are so cute. Were the booties easy to make? I've been dying to try her pattern and a lot of people have been making them but im wondering if they are difficult.

They is easy.  When you first start you work on the sole which is in half. Later you sew up the middle and it looks more like a sole. And she does these cast ons for the straps which seem weird, but work out in the end. I just dont like ending up with all these loose ends you have to hide.

Ive been knitting for years and embarrasingly enough Im retarded when it comes to moding a pattern. Can you sort of give me an idea of how many stiches you casted on for the sweater, or better yet explain for others like me how to size down an adult sweater to a baby sweater? Id really appriciate it.
