Cross Stitch Invasion

Edited 2.28.11 to show framed version. I finally painted the frame, and framed everything this weekend, just in time for my friends birthday! He really enjoyed it.


Last week when I saw a good friend of mine, he was being so sweet and supportive about my crafting. He kept saying stuff like "you could even make me a strawberry shortcake doll and I would put it on my desk at work, even though I don't like her, because you made it." So when he mentioned space invaders, I had a eureka moment, and silently vowed to make him something for his birthday (which is at the end of Feb.).

Which is where this comes in. I used a pattern I found from a Google Image search, and away I went. This was actually a pretty quick project too. If it looks crooked I assure you it's not. I just haven't ironed it yet. I was too excited and had to show someone!   C&C welcome.

Super cute and guy friendly at the same time!  It really pops against the black fabric.  Did you use glow in the dark floss?

Oh man, I didn't even think of glow in the dark thread. That would be awesome! It's just 3 strands of white.

the black and white contrast looks so great! awesome idea and execution.  the idea of doing arcade games in cross stitch on black cloth really works well.  i think you've inspired me to do either a pac-man or donkey kong! thanks for sharing

@sweetdeeds - I think all the colors in Pac-man would show great on a black background. I would love to see what you come up with, no matter what the choice.
