Decoupage Table

i bought this table for cheap cheap cheap at Kmart, and instead of giving it to my brother to put in his college apartment, i decoupaged it with stuff i had lying around the house.  then i lacquered over it, which was disgusting, but worth it.  cheers!

I love this idea. I also bought a cheep table at k-mart.
and this is what I did with it.



(I painted with acrilic paints, glue the images down, and sealed with waterproof varnish!)

That looks awesome!  I am a decoupage nut...but alas, i have no digital camera to share my work.  i will look into borrowing one soon...

I did something like this a few years ago with a similar table from Target. (Interestingly enough, my table also has an Eiffel Tower lamp sitting on it, but it's silver.) Instead of any old pictures, I covered the table with Jones Soda labels that I had collected for a long time, just waiting to be put to use. I only used the black and white ones, and it's a black table.  The effect is really cool, unfortunately I don't have a picture.

My daughter got a hard cover sketch book and covered hers with various images she collected from her magazines. She's done coffee mugs - I'd have to say they should be fine handwashed - we don't have a dishwasher so who knows! They make great pencil holders for my desk!

i love making collages but i've never really done that sorta thing on furniture.
i just might have to do it with my dumb little bookshelf.
