KimberlyPye, my friend was wondering how easy it is to get the little chicks in and out of their eggs? Her four year old niece loves to take things out of one container and put them in another so she was thinking of making a bunch of different coloured chicks and white egg shells for her to play with. We just weren't sure how easy/frustrating it would be for a four year old to get the chicks in and out of the eggs. What do you think?

Getting the chicks out is a non-issue. They're a tad smaller than the egg, so it comes out very easily. A four-year-old would probably be fine sticking it back in, too.  The only frustrating thing I would worry about is the side crushing in if not placed directly in (like when you try to cram your foot in a shoe, and the back of the heel squishes), but I think a kid that old could probably handle it.  You could always use thicker yarn and a smaller hook to make a very tight fabric, then it should be just fine.  I'd say go for it!

Oh! That does it! I've seen too many of those lions around here! Now I NEEED to make one! He'll probably have to be a pretty funky color, though, since I don't have good lion-colors, and there's no freakin' way I'm buying more yarn at this point!

I've made the little ami bunny too, but without the hat. Cristi, I really like your bunny's hat with its little flower, very cute!

I wasn't that crazy about the lion when I saw him in the book, but seeing everyone's lion's here he's really starting to grow on me. I think I want to do something really weird with him though, like a lime green lion with a bright pink mane or something. I could tell people it's an alien lion!

I started the Little Pear today in the last few minutes of my lunch break.

Progress:
Wooo. Exciting.  Tongue

I'm using an E hook and some Italian yarn I got on the cheap a long time ago. The label isn't attached anymore, but I think I might know where it is...  I'll check when I get home.
