Just bought the book! gonna try one of them tonight but im really a novice at this even tho i've been crocheting since i was young i have no idea about the abv. so any tips? i think im gonna work on the octopus because it seems like the easiest out of the bunch. tips would help plenty.. and i'll most likely have questions and be posting a lot. so i apologize in advance.

Ahhhh! Okies! Question time! Soo I'm doing the baby octopus because it seemed like the easiest and wow it was a breeze. But I'm trying to finish it off but I don't understand this last abv. It says *sk 1 sc, sc 1* okay I understand its single crochet. But I don't understand what "sk" stands for. Your help is much apperciated! I just wanna finish my new cute octo! Smiley

sk stands for skip...

So, it reads:
skip 1 single crochet, single crochet 1

Not a problem! And, don't feel dumb! I was terrified of patterns when I was learning to crochet, so I just made a bunch of lopsided rectangles, so I'm impressed that you jumped right in Wink

Yeah! Well my mom taught me how to do a double crochet when I was little and I never knew about other stiches until now. But yeah! I'm really excited. My little legs seem a little odd. And sowing them seems odd as well. But we'll see. Pics should be soon

Hello, I am new here.  I was just wondering if there is going to be more "Amigurumi World Along"ing, or is it just more or less just a discussion thread now?

Thanks

yes! more amigurumi world-alonging here!  Smiley sorry, lots of pictures. (and sorry i couldn't figure out how to rotate some of them)

the pair of pears I made for my dorm room...

the hedgehog (I couldn't figure out how to do the coat correctly so it ended up being really, really thick)

the bear

penguin

the elephant! (...ran out of blue yarn)

some more random critters (except the fried egg and the cupcake are from elsewhere)
