Be proud, Craftsters! This morning, my two best friends and I enacted part of the Crafty Revolution! That's right.

We went to the office of our school this morning, and after searching the faculty, found a sponsor and started a Craft Club! That is right. Sooner than soon, Crystal River High School (Florida) will be open to all crafting. A place for all of us to converge and enjoy in the wonderful, lush, fabulous world of crafts.

We're trying to get together to meet once a week, focusing mostly on knitting and crocheting, but also delving into sewing and other stuff. YAY! Cheer for me, friends! Viva la Revolucion!

And naturally, people with further questions will be directed here.

wow thats so cool. at our prison we have an art and craft club for year 7s (11 yr olds) ran by the 6th form (17 yos) and i dont know how successful it is. they meet in the art room once a week (i think, i only see them when im having to do art at lucnh or nicking suppies etc) but they only seem to do lame stuff, like decoradted candle holders (which can be good, but not these ones Sad ) i am waiting till next year when i can take over art and craft club! and make it kick ass! well done for starting yours!!

I so want to have a craft club at our school. We have a knitting club but I am more into reconstructive crafting. Too bad my friends are losers and don't craft.

That is so cool!  I wish Lecanto(that should sound familiar) had that, I just graduated or I would totally look into starting one.

Good for you! We have a whole section (3 pages) geared to crafts that might be interesting to teenagers. http://www.freekidscrafts.com/teen_crafts-t53.html and are adding ideas all the time. Everything from decoupage sneakers to retro tie belts and duplicate stitch scarfs and much more....

We also have a craft contest where we give away $50 in craft supplies for original craft ideas. Take a look and let us see what you are doing http://www.freekidscrafts.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=17&Itemid=34
