A while back I decided that I wanted to do something with all of those soda bottles that we generate.  I only had green ones so I surfed and found a site (which I now can't find and wouldn't know how to add it here)  Sorry, I don't have any pics of the process.
It is basically cutting the straight part of the bottle with scissors, straightening them with tacks on a board.  Put the pic of a butterfly under and paint over it.  I used faux glass paint (that I had left over from a previous project).  I know it's been done before but if was fun and luckily.. time consuming.
Here are the "butterflies" drying after I put the suction cups on

Here they are on the door of my new craftroom

A bitty close up.

I do apologize for the poor quality of my pictures.  I'll just have to learn.
Anyone else done this?  Thank you for looking.

I love these.  I want to make some now.  I would love to have these fluttering on my window.

OMG...this is really awesome.  You are very creative and talented.  I have about 10 ladies who are like moms to me and their Mother's Day gift from me will be a Swarovski crystal butterfly bracelet that I made.  The butterfly has so many wonderful meanings.  Great job!  It's so inspiring.
