Birthday Fairy Costume

So my friends and I are poor college students and don't really have the money to buy birthday presents for everyone. We felt bad that our friend's birthday is today and we hadn't gotten her anything. So we decided to make her a birthday costume so everyone would know that it was her birthday. Using two wire hangers, a pair of needle nose pliers, and old t-shirt, some duct tape, a hot glue gun and some water colors we were able to make her pair of fairy wings. Then we made her a princess hat out of a conical piece of paper and attached more painted t-shirt strips. Instead of making her a card we made her a wand and we attached our birthday sentiments to it as streamers. The wand by the way is the card board part that covers a wire hanger simply covered in duct tape, with 2 carboard stars taped on back to back. And the result of all our low-budget, college-girl crafting...





I'm particularly proud of the wings they were my creation.

Awesome costume! I'm definately gonna have to try this out some time (I'm a poor student too!). I love that you wrote all the b'day sentiments on the hat streamers - very lovely!

Most impressive birthday gift... surely better than anything that could have been store bought! I love the wings! Creativity at it's best!
