I just picked out a diagonal rib pattern from a stitch dictionary online and cast on a bunch of stitches and set off. It took what seemed like an unreasonable amount of time and somehow I managed to reverse the direction of the ribbing a couple of times accidentally, but I like it. In the picture it's piled on top of the beginner knitter's obligatory garter stitch scarf which may be finished by the time winter comes around again!

Does anyone know how I would go about intentionally switching the direction of the diagonal with this stitch pattern- I like how it looks even if it was an accident. Might I have just put the thing back on the needles wrong after frogging a bit to fix a mistake? I did that a couple of times?

Great job, I really like the stitch pattern you did.
