I took my 6 year old niece to see Matilda the musical for christmas (It's awesome, reminded me why I'm so proud to work in west end theatre - if you get a chance you have to see it!)
Anyway, as a memento I made this simple frame that is based on the set design for the show, and features a lyric from one of our favourite show songs;
this is the set design, as you see all scrabble tiles and different sized squares.

I made up the frame with some scrap, whitewashed (because the only wood i had was rubbish and i needed to disguise it) and sanded it (to make it look aged). Then i attacked it with permanent pens and some scrabble tile shaped fridge magnets (I couldn't find any old wooden tiles - only the new plastic ones. I found some lettering tiles for papercrafting, but way too small...) and glue. The back bit that it rests on is just from an old frame, and there's no glass in it (I'm gonna keep an eye out for frames the right size to take the glass from)

A nice simple project for a sunday afternoon listening to the cast recording - the picture is going to go in 'our' bedroom at my parents house - my old room is where Boo sleeps when she stays at Nannie & Grandad's  Grin

Thanks for looking!

I'm always up for swapping hexies or TM patches (or anything, really!) - PM me Cheesy
