So what to do with xrays from before braces?
Make it into a simple night table lamp, so every night you smile and remember how much agony braces were!

1) Get a cheapo lamp shade and cannibalize it for parts, but keep the canvas to measure later. Like this one:

2) Next hand stitch the x-rays to some plastic transparencies. (I like Blue). Be really careful here. The transparencies have a tendency to rip. It might be a good idea to stick clear tape to the area and stitch thru it. Then when done stitching remove the clear tape.

3) Use the cannibalized canvas as a template to cut your x-ray & transparency mush to the right size!

3) Hand stitch the x-ray mush to the lampshade skeleton.

4) And viola! You have creepy teeth to keep you up at night!

5) Make one for mom & dad to remind them of their empty wallets!

i am acting like caution police lately, but please if x-rays are as flammable as other film it would be good to use a compact fluorescent or even LED bulb in this lamp, because they make less heat than regular bulbs.

but i do not know the facts on flammability of x-rays.

and PS this is a very cool lamp.  never thought i would see TEETH on a lamp.
(picturing Samuel L. Jackson saying "MoFing Teeth on a MoFing Lamp") sorry, couldn't resist...

(braces memory -- i had to teach french with braces on for 2 years... ugh... as if it weren't hard enough to pronounce stuff in french?!?!)

Ooo, Good Point Nataluna! Thanks for bringing that up!

I've been using a 100 watt bulb for years with no problems...
BUT! The lightbulb should never touch the transparencies or x-rays! (or even get within an inch or so). Bad bad BAD idea!! Unless you don't mind the burn holes and smell of burning plastic  Wink

Ug...and I totally feel your French pain! That sounds like misery!

This reminds me of when I was a kid and accidentally knocked one of our lamps over while goofing around. The shade got stuck on the bulb and burned a hole in it. Man, that smelled awful! That lamp is now in the upstairs bedroom. Tongue
