Hello ladies and lads!
I had been meaning to make a tiny fridge with tiny food for awhile, and I'm a sucker for little details. So when I saw this challenge I thought, "oh! I can make it with a working light!" and then the idea of the fridge as a nightlight came after that. And so without further ado,

The Midnight Snack Mini Fridge Light

It stands at about 5 inches tall.

Hmm, whats in the fridge?

Alright! Apples, bannanas, avocado, milk, eggs, sushi, fresh fish, bacon on sale, perogies, leftovers, beer, lettuce, strawberries, yellow peppers, and orange peppers and tulips!
This picture shows how everything was made separately so that it can all be moved around and played with. That's right, I said play. It`s all polymer clay. I wove the basket with beading wire.

And here it is in action by my bedside! Now when I get a midnight snack, I don`t have to blind myself with my lamp, but I don`t have to stub my toe either!

This is how it works. Theres a little switch that when pushed breaks the circut. So when the door closes, the light goes off, just like a real fridge!

The bulb is a flashlight bulb that my Dad and I had to hardwire after we discovered that the bulbs and socket we bought weren`t compatable. It`s connected to a 9V battery.

A few progress shots
This is the box my Dad found for me. He`s super.

Yeah! Wine and solder!

A little more detail.

The best part is, I had or found all the material, so I really only spent about 5 bucks on the electrical stuff!
I`m really nervous about posting, so any comments and or suggestions are welcome!
Thanks for looking!

That's me with my dad's crazy soldering iron, and dad-roc in the back there. He deserves some credit for his excellent yoda-ing.

It`s defintely a little brighter than I wanted, I had chosen a softer bulb that didn`t work, but I was running out of time.
