OOOH so cute I had to give it a try. My gay friends said I could make a killing off these at Gay Pride Fest. They took way too long for that though! Thanks I loved the idea, so did the kids and adults.

(I hope it's alright to post in here; I don't want to start my own thread Tongue )

I tried this today!

Although we used cake mix, which was Golden, so even though we tried to make the colours pink, blue, and purple (we sadly didn't have any yellow food colouring handy)...it didn't really work that way. Ended up with salmony-pink, green, and purplish-brown haha.

So my tip: USE A WHITE CAKE RECIPE or CAKE MIX. Cheesy

Not that it takes a rocket scientist to figure this out, but I'm suspecting your cake mix had yellow food coloring in it.  You would probably be ok with a regular yellow cake recipe (since the color comes from the eggs), but not a box mix.

I had to give these a go as well!

Mine didn't turn out brilliantly, but they were lots of fun to make -

I just love anything where you get to make a mess!

I didn't measure mine into the cases very well, and ran out of some colours before others. In fact, three of them have a layer of purple mixture on top because I'd ran out of red and had purple left over! And my orange kind of disappeared into the red. But there we go. At least I will have a better idea of what not to do next time!
