2nd Fondant Cake

Okay this is my second try with fondant so please dont be mean lol. My very first try was very unsuccessful and depressing (i didnt have enough to cover the cake) after forcing myself to try again instead of hiding under a rock i finally built up enough courage to do it.

i made a yellow cake, and used the wilton buttercream icing mix. i have to say that it really wasnt that easy to use the mix it was VERY thick and well i actually tried to make it chocolate..needless to say i burned out the mixer     the fondant wasnt hard to use at all, and this time i was prepared with more than enough 

first try (i know its horrible) but it tasted good!

That looks amazing, I love the colours and you have such a lovely smooth finish.

Gratz on getting back on the horse after a not-so-desirable first attempt! You have certainly redeemed yourself and no doubt learned from your past effort. Just think, if your second fondant cake is this good, just how great will the next one be  !

And besides, just cause the first one didn't look how you wanted, at least it tasted good and that's what cakes are for anyway

thanks i was terrified that it was going to be frankenstein-ish

i might be dreaming big but the main reason why i started working with fondant is because i want to make this cake for my bfs birthday

Oh my god that Mario cake is amazing!  MY DREAM!!!

And looking at how fast you progressed, I totally think you can do it.  I love the colors of the polka dots, and the circles are so fun!

oh my god! good luck to you, i LOVE that cake! my husband and i had a similar wedding cake..not as extraordinary as that one though.
