Here is the Larry Boy Fondant Cake that I made for my Youngest's Birthday this weekend.

This was fun to make, but might be a lot of trouble if you don't have a really tough mixer.  If you are willing to knead the fondant by hand, you can do that as well, but it will take a bit longer.

The fondant recipe is from a "fondant 101" recipe on the net.  You can find the link by googling it or looking on my blog if you are interested.  It uses lots of powdered sugar and mini marshmallows and that's it!  The hardest part is making the fondant and coloring it.  After that, it's all play.  It's like working with modeling clay.

First, I grabbed a pic of a Larry Boy cake that someone else had made to use as a guide.  Then I took a sheet cake and cut off the corners to make the cucumber shape.  I used some of the extra pieces to make the crest for his helmet and to make the nose.  His belt is made from twizzlers licorice.  Everything else is made from fondant.

My son (he's two) was thrilled with it.  All I heard the entire day was "Lahwwee Boy!"

Thanks everyone!  This was a lot of fun to make and one of the easiest bday cakes that I've made for my kids.  We love Larry Boy around here!

Very nice!  Smiley  You did a great job getting the purple so deep, too.  Larry-Boy is a hard one, since his colors are so vibrant.

My kids are squealing over here!  Smiley Smiley Smiley
