That was my thought exactly.  Now I need to take a charity shop trip into Harborne one lunchtime...  Ooh - and freecycle - I wonder if anyone's giving any away at the moment.

Rug looks great!

Don't you love those big needles? I've done a couple of afghans with my size 50s (which look to be about that size) and I love the way you can combine a bunch of different yarns and textures with them.

Oh! I really want to try this. I read an article about Rachel and thought at the time what a brilliant idea it was but was put off by thought of how the yarn would cost. I'm surprised (and pleased) to hear you didn't use that much Purpleheather, I might take a trip to Poundstretcher later for some cheapy acrylic and have a try. I'm sure I saw a pair of 30mms at my Mothers' house. I'll have to have a rummage round when I go over this afternoon.

I know - I never had much need for them till now :p

AFAIK, Rachel sells extra long needles for resting on the sand behind you when you're sat in your deck chair.  Not that it's deck chair weather at the moment, but that'd help take the weight very well.
