my package from decibel arrived yesterday, and was definitely worth the wait! thanks!

it contained:

four (!) mixed cds of swedish music, not all strictly from stockholm (that is ok, d). these are printed with pictures of swedish things and organized into themes based on swedish phrases, which are extensively explained in the accompanying note. i quite enjoyed the explanations of the phrases!

my fave: the royal family printed on a cd titled with a quote of the king embarrassing himself. runner up: the fucking swedish chef from the muppet show, on a cd titled "smorgasbord."

also in the package: a little box of candy, and a demo by decibel's boyfriend's band. the whole ensemble was tied up with blue and yellow ribbon, and wrapped in a map of stockholm.

overall, i think i'm familiar with about half the bands on these mixes, but i didn't know they were all from sweden! El Perro Del Mar features on several cds, and I think they are my favorite new discovery so far.

thanks, decibel!
