Thanks for sharing this with us - it made me go beyond my 'safe' zone.  I have never worked with scraps like this before but I do love the result.  The hardest part was adding scraps because at first, it looked like a dog's breakfast, but when all the scraps are down and then the stitching on top, it seems the stitching makes it 'pop'.
