New Look Pattern 6688 which is so simple to do!  Instead of lining the top though I made bias tape from the co-ordinating fabric.  This dress went together in less than an hour.

i want one in my size!  i *love* what you did with the contrasting fabric... and kudos on the bias tape... that is the part i *hate* about quilting.... yours looks just gorgeous... where did you get that fabric?

I have that pattern, haven't ever used it...it really went together in an hour?! That dress is super cute. Thanks for the inspiration; maybe it's finally time for me to get that pattern out of the envelope....

Latest version.  I love this pattern!  I've been thinking of ways that I could add sleeves to it so I could use it in the winter as well.  The skirt is so full and yet so easy to attach with no gathering.

Oh I love that second one the best. Just a thought, when you do the bias tape you ought to stop half way at the neckline and do the other fabric around the contrasting neckline and armhole. Just to kinda make that side pop more. Or put the contrasting part towards the back. I have this pattern too. I'm gonna have to try it now. I too love how there's no gathering but yet a full skirt on it. Can't wait to see action shots!
