Dripping with Crystals Chandelier

I put this chandelier in the home sweet home catagory a while ago, but decided to enter it here as well.  I made this a few years ago.  I found a similar one at a high-end designer store and decided I had to have it!  So in hopes of findingthe perfect lamp, I started collecting antique crystals on Ebay.  $200 later I thought I had accumulated enough, so I set out to find the base for my box full of crystals.  I had almost given up, until a trp to Iea paid off!  I found the Glimt lamp there and stripped it down then started attatching my million crystals with fishing line.  They are looped over the bar so I can move them around if I get bored of the current configuration.  I know it's not an original idea, but it was A LOT of work and I think it's gorgeous!  Oh it was also featured on the blog, ikea hacker (i just read the comments on ikeahackerblog and forgot how mean people can be!):

It's probably impossible to know whether your project is 100% original and has never been posted on Craftster or made by anyone else in the past.  But if your project was definitely inspired by something you've seen before, then just give credit to that project.

I love this...I have seen the WAY too expensive ones and they are not as nice as this one...great job!!

i don't think it's against the rules ..... it was my post originally in the home sweet home catagory (not someone else's).  I've contacted the moderators via helpdesk, so they will let me know if it's okay or not.

I think the rule just means that someone else can't have posted it on Craftster before.  Anyway, I really LOVE this idea and I think it looks awesome.  The combination of modern streamlined simplicity with the kind of over-the-top decadence of the crystals is so great!!!  I bet my daughter would love something like this in her room!  I also love that all of the crystals are different and not matchy matchy.

I love this.  For me I would use the same concept and do either suncatchers or glass beads (or something translucent) to hang from it.  Thanks for the idea.
