yay i'm glad i asked ^_^ thanks for all the links (and the rapunzel scarves are really cute!)
i have some chunky handspun at home that i've been hanging on to for a couple of years... the plan was to use it in a tribal bellydance costume or in dreadfalls. i may still yet, but its nice to see ways to actually knit with it. i occassionally pull it out and play with it ^_^

I am LOVING April Showers, feral!!

All kinds of beauteous yarns this week!   Cheesy

I haven't posted in a while, but here are a few of my recent faves...sorry, the pics are gigantic because I was lazy and didn't feel like scaling 'em down.   Roll Eyes

Here Comes the Sun  Merino, ecospun, mohair, recycled denim.

Gelfling  Rambouillet/Merino/Targhee wool mix of lofty sproinginess!

Water Violet  Superwash merino/alpaca mix

Disco Fever  Merino, mohair, and TONS of gold bling!

Calico  100% merino.  This was my first attempt at cabling, and lemme tell ya, it takes FOREVER!  But the result is pretty neato.

And some handpainted Falkland top just for fun:

Keep the yarn a'comin'!   Cheesy

I have no idea what you're talking about, so here's me with some yarn on my head.

I <3 the cabled yarn!  Wowza!!  Shocked

Here's what I've got this week!!!

The first 4 oz of 24 oz (yikes)
Plied Socks
Light fingering to fingering
Colorway: Maple
Two ply
200 yds (So I'll probably get about 1200 yds out of the whole caboodle)

The second helping of Maple, only one ply spun up so far:

Finally, a friend giften me Merino/Silk batts, 3 oz of them, and I'm spinning them up into a laceweight two-ply.  Should be lovely.

I've posted several FO's from handspun in the spinning and knitting galleries. For those crazy yarns I suggest you check out the link below for some amazing creations from creative handspun.

I hadn't visited that site before.  I LOVE the current challenge, and I even have an idea for some yarn that I think could be pretty lovely, but I know I'd never get it done in time, and really, what would I do then, with a hank of handspun dead skunk yarn?  lol

I've got a yarn I spun up with a specific idea in mind. My little boy needs a handspun handknit soaker. I got the wool in a FOTM club. I tried splitting the roving so the colors would ply together but it didn't work out like that.

I's 4 oz and about 180 yards. For sure enough to be a soaker, but probably not enough to be longies, and that's ok.

Since I'm sure someone will ask, a soaker is a wool cover that goes over a cloth diaper. You rub a little lanolin into it, and it becomes both water repellent and super absorbent.  Shocked (The lanolin will repel so much water, then the wool will absorb.) They also stay warm when wet. They RULE.

< drunk post >I lurk in the fiber friday thread almost every week. There is envy abound from, the newbie knitter that is, me. I love everything I've seen. < / drunk post > (I promise, I'm being honest. I'm just shy, and normally lurk)

I have been a lurker here too for a while. I just bought a book to learn to spin. Now to make a spindle and get some fiber.

Question: How do you dye your yarn? Do you do it before spinning or after or either one?
