Was that a normal lampshade frame or something made specifically for hanging dangly fronds from.?

yeah. It lets out quite a lot of light. gives out a very warm and cozy shine..

I was going to join the challenge, but then I made another lamp and entered with that instead.

the frame is just some metal wire in two circles... I was going to use a bicyclewheel at first, but I didn't have the tools to deconstruct it right there and then (and I'm sure you all recognise that a good idea can't wait... for anything) Smiley
