so... I found an old carpart (it might be a scilencer or muffler or maybe that's the same thing) in a ditch somewhere... and I really liked the shape... I had it lying around the flat for some time, and then I finally broke down and made a lamp out of it...

I would love some comments on how I can improve it... should I paint it? In what color?

Wow that is really cool!  I'm a car person, so I loooove it!  I think you should paint it green so it'll look more like the stem/leaves of the flower maybe?  Very cool idea!

What an original idea and great way to recycle!

I think you should paint it a bright green (more like a giant stem) or gold (more like a tuba)...would make the whole thing sort of Dr. Suessish.

Wow, I love this one! I love how a flower comes out of a 'machine'. I completely agree with the bright green. I would ad some more red flower leaves also (if that is possible) But anyway, great job esp. in originality!

We all make mistakes, and then when you've made enough, they call it experience.

I like the way it looks so other worldly.
