Hello again everyone!

Here the story goes again, my friend is turning 21, so dress up party time! I struggled to think of what to give him, so after he told me he was going as a hobbit to his party but doesn't have a cloak, I decided to use my age old trick of "I'll make your costume for your birthday!"

So here it is!

Here is a close up of the lovely elven buttons I found at Spotlight ($7 for two! ouch!) I used these because I'm not sure whether he has the proper silver leaf brooch.

The original is a little more grey, but I decided to go with this army green colour because the fabric was the best I could find (on sale for $7/m). Everything else didn't look rustic/hand woven enough (even though the fabric I used is a knit, but you get what I mean).

I used the pattern directions from this site, : http://www.alleycatscratch.com/lotr/Things/FCloak/FCloak_pattern.htm

I'm really happy with the result!

That came our great!  I'm sure you followed the links on alleycatscratch (I love that site!) to the "licensed" cloak makers out of NZ - ouch, those prices!  I like your closure, too; the buttons are perfect.

Great job. I think my hubby would be jealous. I think I should make us all one and then we can wear it while we play Lord of the Rings Risk! (you think I kid?). Smiley
