I claim poerava for ribbon, fabric, and fabric paint.

This is my 4th claim this month, with 2 in transit and all others received.

Me: I'm in the armpit of California (San Joaquin Valley), working on me and on moving to someplace greener and less hot. I have an elderly dog-baby who is the joy of my life. My wists are not an actual wishlist; as much as a collection of my interests in the material world, so check with me before embarking on a wisty surprise. (:  I like reusing and recycling, and anything in this list can be used, esp the more expensive stuff. I am vegetarian, left-handed, leftist, non-pierced, and am sensitive to smoke.

Crafts, in no particular order:

- RecycleCindys plastic bag tote thank you DrRuby!

- a mens XL or womens L t-shirt (for family members) embellished with something relating to the movie Urban Cowboy, or the SNL cowbell skit.

- crocheted kerchief (in cheap, non-fancy yarn since it will have to be washed quite a bit) ala http://www.craftyarncouncil.com/projects/july00_crochetproj.html

- a shirt or some other item with a reading or library theme like this: http://www.wists.com/happyhermitheather/e08eb51ba2649e948c58d94797ab4609

- something woven from palm leaves/fronds (for family, not me)

- birdhouse or some other outdoors/backyard item carved out of a coconut (also for family, not me)

- skirt-to-tank recon: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=25645.0

- small felted soap

- a bumper-sticker type sticker, silkscreened t-shirt, button, or [whatnot] of your design that says My genes are out of the pool, OR something like, "I <3 being a bleeding-heart liberal psychobabble new-age tree-hugging hippie freak crazy-driver vegetarian Californian" (add more names/stereotypes of Californians as you see fit, but check with me to make sure it fits! Grin)

- tie-dyed or batiked sheets for my full-sized futon (regular bed-sheets are fine, and again Im fine with 2nd-hand sources)

- Hippyish recon clothing (patched-together kind of stuff), medium size. Examples aplenty in my wists (most are toward the end). Heres links to some tutorials:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=28933.0
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=8166.0
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=18063.0
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=15216.0

- tip-in pages - I dont have the journal yet that people are using in the Tip-in Swap, but if you send me a page Ill send you one back in the future. (:

-your ATCs

- a patch, sticker, ribbon, button, or something like that which says, How dare you presume Im straight!

- Sandals made from tire tread, Im womens U.S. size 7.5-8

- A snood

- a basket for my newly found bicyclekitschy but not cutesy

- Earth-friendly little goodies, like things made from hemp, essential oils, beeswax candle, organic homemade exfoliating bath products, herbal tea,...

- Wraparound pants, aka Thai fishermen's pants. ]http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=161380.0]

- Small rug/floor-mat made from used plastic bags or other recycled stuff

- wrap skirt ala: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=237248.msg2601783#msg2601783

- A lightweight, washable coat, crocheted/knit poncho, or shirt for my small cocker spaniel. It can be as girly as you like, and any color.

- a cooling neck-wrap -- with the little crystals inside that expand into gel when you soak it in water. Heres an example: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=9724381
thank you, arwena! I'll gladly take another one for my family, though, if someone wants to claim me for it.

- mosquito-netting hoop setup for over the bed: http://www.sewing.org/enthusiast/html/e_duvet_cover.html#a

- Homemade berry jam/preserves! yumyumyum.

- No-grain treats for my doggie-girl (she has grain allergies but that doesn't affect her appetite!). She's very carnivorous, even if I'm not. My dog and I thank quilted for what was apparently a very delicious treat! (I didnt try it, but my dog loved it!)

- Baked goods for me! I love them all. Only if you're in the U.S., though, since they'd need to arrive within a couple days of being baked, presumably.

- anything you can make that features a good rendition of Heen, the dog from Howl's Moving Castle --  I adore that dog! The eyes and the feet are the most important details to get in there (he has these weird chicken-feet).

- anything you can make that features Speak, The Tick's dog (erm, capybara, actually)! http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Heights/5139/Tick/speak.html

Craft Supplies:

- This watercolor journal, for use in future Tip-In swaps: http://www.dickblick.com/zz118/12/

- hinges, buckles, and other hardcover bookmaking hardware (doesn't have to be from a bookbinding or craft company; stuff from the hardware store is fine)

- Black photo corners

- Glue Dots

- rotary punch (usually in the leatherwork section of the craft stores, it's a hole-punch with multiple sizes)

-  Mirror(s) with a plain wide frame for decorating, such as: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90075741

- citric acid (for bath-bombs)

- a rubber stamp (handmade or store bought) of a tiki or a hula-girl

- Stickers, fabric, paper, embellishments--ANY kind of craft supplies--that have a retro/vintage tiki/tropical/hawaiian/british-colonial/bamboo non-cutesy look.

- Stickers, fabric, paper, ephemera, stamps, embellishments--ANY kind of craft supplies--that feature meercats, California history, feminism, historical women who kick ass, absurdity in otherwise serious/dignified moments, goats, archetypal characters/symbols, wombats, capybaras...I'm just in a capybara mood at the moment!   And I would be so shocked if there actually were capybara craft products out there.  Cheesy

- the little devices that can record short sound-bites to be replayed when a greeting card is opened. Know what Im talking about? Either greeting cards that have those devices, or the devices by themselves. **DCWV is now marketing some just for scrapbooking, thank goodness! http://www.diecutswithaview.com/product_view.php?id=1357

- Metallic or other abnormal embroidery thread or filigree

- Any size or scraps of interesting origami paper, scrapbook paper or other decorative paper from or similar to the designs here

- black or white gesso (the cheapy kind is fine since Ive never used it before)

- milagros

- old typewriter keys, or the circular letter charms that look old like that

- handheld rotary cutter

- set of small alphabet rubber stamps in a very cool font. If its missing a few letters thats okay.

- Boooooks...My amazon.com craft book wishlist
Books about Tasha Tudor. Books about book-making, creative writing, journaling or journal-making, scrap-papercraft, altered imagery, artists books/journals, and/or the therapeutic use of any of these. Books about becoming less of a consumer and more of a DIYer, affordably.  Books about things we can make and do that are therapeutic to the soul and spirit (I <3 SARK). Dover art books with or without cd-rom.

-  Your guide to subversive/guerrilla crafting, or someone elses that you have.

- Solid storage for 12x12 scrapbook paper thank you farmgirljane!

I claim CamOovas for a checkbook cover, glass beads, and a felting needle holder/keeper.

This is my 3rd claim, 2 sent, 2 received.

I'm 25-years-old and I just moved to Chicago last year.  I'm loving big city living, except I'm totally poor.  In the food vs. craft stuff debate, craft stuff wins about half the time, lol.  I own three lovely kitties, and I work with people with serious mental illness.  I love to sew and crochet, and have seriously thought about felting all the cat hair around here (and yes, I've seen that tutorial, lol).

Wish List:

Craft:
- Handspun yarn
- I LOVE totes and bags
- a wallet
- beaded bracelet or necklace
- framed (or frameable) subversive cross-stitch saying
- stitch markers
- silk-screened/stenciled t-shirts (if you claim me for this, ask me more about it)
- framed (or frameable) hand-embroidery
- a pincushion!  I suck at making them.  My current one is totally pitiful.
- soldered pendant
- a zippered pouch
- anything with birdsparticularly pigeons, sparrows, or crows, but I love all kinds
- a hand-bound/homemade journal
- I love dandilions.  Make me something with dandilions on it and I will love you forever.
- Coasters
- crochet hook roll
- anything based on my wists, www.wists.com/pleaseelise

Supplies:
- yarn!  I especially love cotton yarn, but Ill never refuse yarn 
- fabricif anyone had some Amy Butler floating around their stash, I would so, so love them.  But other fabric is great, too.
- iron-on vinyl (Joanns)
- paper ephemera (vintage flaschards, old photos, old childrens books, pretty papers, etc)
- ink-jet shrinky-dink paper (I have regular, but I want the kind I can use in my printer)
- regular shrinky-dink paper
- sublime stitching patterns
- buttons, preferably older/vintage onesbut any will do.

You're mine!
I claim pleaseelise for ink-jet shrinky-dink paper, some cotton yarn, and whatever else I see fit (you know me!).

List in a sec...

This is my 5th claim (4 sent, 3 received).

I live in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, USA with my husband and two ferrets.  I knit and crochet obsessively, but my day job as a researcher/editor keeps me from hiding in a pile of yarn all day!  I also enjoy reading, writing, camping, and cooking.  My three favorite authors are Shakespeare, Steinbeck, and Whitman. I've been experimenting with vegan baking for a while, but I've recently taken the plunge and become a full-time ovo-lacto vegetarian.  I like earth tones, greens, and pinks.  I dont usually like bright colors.  I like unique leaves, animals, and geometric designs; interesting and unique, but not too funky.  I dont eat/use anything with high fructose corn syrup or oils preceded by the words hydrogenated," partially hydrogenated, or interesterified. Basically, I'm all-natural in the food department.

Some favorite things: gerbera daisies, penguins, giraffes, ferrets, maple, goats

Check out my Wists for ideas and inspiration! http://wists.com/KimberlyPye

KNITTED AND CROCHETED THINGS:

NEW *** hand knitted socks (US size 7-1/2)

NEW *** fingerless mitts, but the longer ones?

NEW ***   a felted case/wallet for my iPod Nano?

a satchel bag like this http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer05/PATTsatchel.html  (bright colors, use up all your felting colors?)

this felted backgammon board (or something similar)  http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/na_knitting/article/0,2025,DIY_14141_5311864,00.html

i love this felted bag - http://www.talklikeapirate.com/knitlikeapirate.html

the felted monster slippers in the SNB book?

SEWN THINGS:

NEW *** 6" squares for my craftster quilt (6" on the outside, yes they'll be 5-1/2" when i put them all together

a flamenco skirt like this  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=3905.msg29436#msg29436

*** NEW *** a messenger style bag - big enough to hold my projects and all my normal purse stuff?  maybe like one of the necktie bags, or one out of felted sweaters?

can anyone figure out how to make a shrug jacket like this?  I LOVE this jacket, but this is the only picture I have of it
http://www.wists.com/Dulcinea/7e8bc1ec576c4d291d9c7cd844f89887?offset=40

another big wish - the pants from Burda Pattern number 8316 - they're a pair of pants that I love - view A (long, not crops) in the smallest size (and we can talk about sizing) (I can provide pattern and fabric, I just need someone who's a better sewer than I am to actually make 'em)

this skirt - anyone think they can find a pattern and make one?  it doesn't need to be so long... mid-calf would be perfect  <-- thank you 1boy1girl1kitty2!!
http://www.shukronline.com/wt3601.html

If anyone loves to sew, I love this skirt!  would love a soft drapey sort of fabric
http://www.garnethill.com/jump.jsp?itemID=12386&itemType=PRODUCT&path=1%2C2%2C4477%2C9140%2C9143&iProductID=12386

a shirt like this, but long enough to tuck in - PM for sizing, please
http://www.kambriel.com/topwhite.html

Amy Butler Weekender bag - i'm actually needing one, and this would be a great bag to pack my stuff in!

OTHER CRAFTED STUFF:

NEW *** home made, cold process soap - prefer citrusy scents, or fresh outdoorsy ones - nothing real heavy

NEW *** some kind of fun hair scrunchies, clips, something I can wear to work?  My hair is to the middle of my back, but some days i just want it out of the way!

a small, simple stained glass window in the style often found at the flea market, along these lines:  http://www.robomargo.com/Dscn1137.jpg

*** NEW *** if we have any potters - a bowl or two, or cups?  I saw a cool thing, called a yarn bell, it's pretty much an upside down bowl/flower pot, with the hole in the middle, you put your yarn on the table, put the bell over it, feed the end of the yarn through the hole and your yarn doesn't run away (or get eaten by the cats) while you knit!

stained glass pendant or bracelet, especially if it was dragonfly or butterfly or iris

some sort of artwork for my bedroom?  it's all in oceany type colors, could be art, a collage, a quilted wall hanging...

*** NEW *** embellished / stencilled hoodie - dragonflies, irises?  adult size medium (i like them big and comfy, and preferably pull over, not zipped)

SUPPLIES:

NEW *** there are a couple of circular needles i'm missing in my collection, especially for shawl making... US5 40" long, US6 40"long, US8 40"long (i use them for magic loop too)

hand-spun yarn

Noro Kureyon - if you have any leftovers in your stash, i'm trying to collect enough to make lizard ridge - only need 5 more skeins!  <<<--- thanks, Sunspotted!

*** NEW *** hand painted yarn - if you love to hand paint yarn, and have bare DK weight, i could really use 880 yards (generally 2 skeins?) in some blues/greens hand painted something, or 1200 yards in a laceweight?  i can dye the yarn, but i haven't gotten up the courage to try to do with the paint brush yet!

crafting supplies:
  • NON-Koolaid dyes for bare yarn
  • bare yarn in a worsted or laceweight
  • chunky weight wool - it's not like thick n quick, and it's not  like regular wool - it's somewhere in between, with a gauge of about 3-4 st. / 1 inch on about #8-10 needles...  anyway, in white, dark blue, forest green, deep purple, chocolate brown, something like that?

Knitting and crocheting books - if one of these is just taking up space, I'd love to get a copy:
  • *** NEW *** Sensational Knitted Socks by Charlene Schurch
  • *** NEW *** Wrap Style: Innovative to Traditional, 24 Inspirational Shawls, Ponchos, and Capelets to Knit and Crochet (Style series)
  • Twinkle's Big City Knits: 31 Chunky-Chic Designs
  • *** NEW *** Knitting Circles Around Socks: Knit Two at a Time on Circular Needles
  • *** NEW ***   Favorite Socks: 25 Timeless Designs from Interweave

Whatever you're really good at - my wist, and my list, are a good indication of the sort of things I like - if there's something you're really good at, and you think I might like it, feel free to plan a surprise - truly, when people make things in friendship, they're received that way, too

something inspired by my wist  http://www.wists.com/Dulcinea

kandy kakes and devil dogs!!  I think i need more chocolate kandy kakes, and I just ran out of devil dogs <sigh> (they don't sell them in wisconsin)! (if you don't know what they are, you probably can't get them by you)

and if i stall out the swap, someone yell at me, and i'll add more stuff.

... right... about me.  I'm the REALLY old lady in the crowd (somehow, those AARP mailings aren't quite so funny anymore!), the one peering over the bifocals.  I have 1 teenager at home, and my day job is a computer programmer.  I have no allergies except MRI dye, nickel (easy on the jewelry stuff, folks) and a couple of antibiotics,  no issues with animal products, would prefer to avoid religion/religious articles and politics at all costs.... my favorite colors are the saturated jewel tones, think ruby, sapphire, emerald... i don't do terribly well with pastels.  We live in an apartment, where space is always at a premium... so small things that sit on tables and shelves and don't do anything except collect dust aren't a great thing here.

Thanks in advance to anyone who chooses me

ABOUT ME:

I am 27 years old and have been living in Chicago, IL for almost 3 years. I am originally from France, I have also lived in London, Germany and Tahiti (dont hesitate to send goodies from those places; I really miss a lot of things).
I just got married last week-end, it is so exciting, and i am also starting a new job next month with 2 adorable babies.
I am a nanny, so I tend to be very practical (no frilly, girly things in my wardrobe, sticky fingers are not forgiving). I like soft pinks, browns, reds and neutrals, blues are great too, no oranges please. I love to read, fantasy and sci-fi in particular and I am a bit of a TV addict.
