I've been at a stand-still with this purse for a while, and was hoping for some ideas. I'd like to add some color to this, but none of my own ideas sit well with me.

A new one I've thought of is some small painting around the edges. Anyway, I'm not quite sure. It still needs a closure, so maybe I could incorporate color that way?

So anyone have an idea???

I am a beader, so I see Native American style woodland floral designs for this. I think the leather steered me that way.

Or take a floral design from a fabric you like and paint it onto your leather.

That's my $0.02.

I think if you could burn a nice little celtic design into it, it would be a perfect purse! But thats just mee.  Grin

Have you thought about a lining to add color?
Then perhaps you could stamp a pattern and paint it to match?
Or match the closure some how.

What about a lining?  Hints of the color would come through the top edge.

Or add a rivet on the flap so that you could switch out accessories such as leather flowers, fancy buttons, or brooches?  Just an idea

Beautiful work though.  Leather stamping would also add detail or depth, but the kits cost a bit and take time to accomplish.

Happy Crafting!

Thanks all for the great ideas! Beading and burning are things I never thought of. I normally paint or "tool" the surfaces of things I make, so I didn't want to do the same kind of thing for this bag. I'm on the fence about a lining, I may add one if I find a fabric I really like. Thanks for all your input, I appreciate you sharing your creative ideas!
