Nice job. Wish there was a store like that around here. When I made my slide lamp, I had to rip the lamp shade off and it was all sticky around the rim. Anyway, it looks good. I'm guessing since you used a hole punch that the slides were paper? That's a good idea, because it's easier to manipulate than plastic.

Thanks! Yeah, there was a bit of sticky residue, but I got most of it off. The punch I used was weird, it was for setting eyelets and stuff, but it did the trick- and yep- the 'holders' or whatever they're called, are thin cardboard... not quite card, not quite cardboard. The punch didn't go all the way through, which made the jump rings harder to get through, heh- I ended up poking through most of the holes with a pin to open them up enough. I ripped a couple slides putting the rings through, though, so the cardboard definitely has its down side- and I'll have to make sure to let my aunt know not to use a really high wattage bulb.
(I love your Micky Dolenz picture, by the way!)

Human rights are for EVERYONE.  Did you know that Aung San Suu Kyi had been released from house arrest in Burma? Many other prisoners of conscience are still being detained.  Please research this topic... Amnesty International needs your help.

That's great, your Aunt is very lucky! Must've been a lot of work but looks like it's totally worth the sore fingers Cheesy
I think I might have to get some slides & try myself... We're moving overseas soon, to Japan so we'll definitely be in a small apartment & double duty functional & decorative items are sounding good!

Wow, I'm loving that!  I have a ton of slides kicking around in boxes from when I was at Uni, if only they were exciting enough to make a lamp from though, they're mostly all boring still life pics and whatnot, bah.  Looks brilliant though, well done!
