My fingers are aching from doing all the jump rings by hand... but I think it turned out alright. Smiley It's going to be my Aunt's birthday gift in 6 days!
I got the slides (of 'Veniza') at Value Village, as well as the lamp (no shade- perfect!) Just had to buy a hole punch thingy at Wal Mart, and a billion jump rings. (Did I mention my fingers hurt? hehe).

Anywho, here it is!

Ooooo. This is very clever. I just looked around my room to see where this would look good! Did you have your own photos on the slides??

Hey thanks! Unfortunately, I didn't use my own pics- I wanted to use something really cheap for my first attempt, incase it didn't turn out. Wink  They're slides of Venice- an old set which would be available in souvenir shops in the 60's or 70's.
As far as I know, slide film is still available (and I hear it's less expensive than regular film) so I'm thinking I'll take pictures at our family reunion this summer to make a lamp for my parents for Christmas! Smiley

These are really cool. I have tons of slide film from AP classes that I would love to turn into a rockin lamp like this!

Wow. I have never seen one of these lamps. I think it looks fabulous! I'll bet your fingers hurt after all that. But what an end result!  Smiley

You did a great job of picking out just the right lamp, too! One of my daughters just got a bunch of slides from Freecycle, so I sent her your post for inspiration. Your aunt is very lucky and your mom will love having one of these for Christmas. Fabulous, dalink!
